Singer and pianist, qualified Alexander teacher, vocal, instrumental and drama coach, Agnès de Brunhoff’s dual career as an artist and a teacher has earned her an international reputation.
Agnès de Brunhoff has combined the multiple facets of her artistic personality – singer, pianist, writer and composer, stage director, actress, comedian – to become the renowned Alexander teacher and vocal, instrumental and drama coach she is today. She works unremittingly to bring her talents together in a wide variety of artistic ventures associated with her impressive use of Alexander Technique. The richness, diversity, depth and idiosyncrasy of her career, her knowledge of stagecraft and the performing arts, her constant research both for herself and for others, all these have made her the indefinable and valuable figure she is, sought after by professional artists the world over.
Her encounter with Alexander Technique completely changed both her bodily consciousness and her musical approach, allowing her to develop movement related to thought in the body.
In October 2008 she opened the Alexander Technique training centre (CFTAlexander), where she continues to train teachers whilst simultaneously pursuing her research into the dynamics of the body, the voice and how Alexander Technique principles can be applied onstage.
Having taught at the ARIAM (Regional Musical Information Association), the ENSATT (National School of Arts and Drama Technique), the Studio des Variétés (Popular Music Studio), the Guildhall School of Music in London and European Union Youth Orchestra, she now holds teaching posts at the Paris Conservatoire (Conservatoire National Supérieur de Musique et de Danse de Paris) and the Paris Opera Academy and coaches actors, singers, dancers, conductors, pianists and other instrumentalists.
